Lorraine-Vosges is full of peaceful and warlike history, plus quiet countryside, interesting cities and picturesque villages. Nancy, the largest town in Lorraine, is graced by its great central square - the Place Stanislas. The busy Moselle city of Metz, dominated by St.Étienne's cathedral, typifies modern Lorraine, whilst retaining its authentic regional atmosphere.
The Vosges, with its forests, rolling landscapes and skiing in winter draws visitors in all seasons. In summer, many stay at lakeside Gérardmer or in spa towns such as Bains-les-Bains and Plombières.
