Palazzo Bocci was built in the second half of the eighteenth century after a reconstruction of historical centre of Spello, desired by the Passeri family. The Passeri family was descendant of the Passaro family that was noblesa of Spello, during the fourteenth century. Later Palazzo Bocci passed to the descendants of Pier Leone Bocci from Spello and Cintia Federici from Bevagna, who were married in the first years of the eighteenth century.
Members of the Bocci Family, like Doctor Pietro Bocci, notary in Foligno and mayor of Spello since 1880, and lawyer Domenico Bocci mayor of Spello until fascism, lived in the palace and took care of the succeeding renovations. Inside the Hotel, you can find Benvenuto Cripoldi's paintings and those of other masters of this century.
The actual owner bought the palace in 1989 and transformed it into a luxury Hotel after 3 years of renovation. The Palazzo Bocci opened in September 1992. Middle floors decidedly animate the inside structure, niches steps and every room has different characteristics. Palazzo Bocci is costituted by: ground floor, middle ground floor, first floor, middle first floor, second floor, middle second floor, small terrace on the open air, a suggestive courtyard with a view of the valley, a beautiful fountain and two age-old palms, a nice bar and an adjoining reading room with fireside, two breakfast rooms on the ground floor.
