Motorists who don't mind the hour drive north of Seville to this whitewashed hill town will find themselves ensconced in comfort in one of Andalusia's most alluring B&Bs. Driven from his ancestral home by distant cousins who took over the property, Manuel Morales de Jódar, the leading decorator of Seville, took a stone-built church from the 1300s, lying in ruins, and restored it to more glory than it had in its original incarnation. Into this new place, he hung his Goyas and placed his antiques and other objets d'art.
Bedrooms are beautifully designed, immaculately comfortable, and accompanied by tiled bathrooms with tub and shower. Without resorting to anything of the "Carmen clichés" of Seville, like castanets and frilly shirts, Señor Jódar brings his lucky guests into intimate contact with the essence of Andalusia by hiring the village gypsies to perform flamenco, by having the family cook prepare tapas according to time-tested old recipes, and by hitching up thoroughbred Andalusian horses to take his guests on carriage rides. When you meet the señor, and he hands you the village's trademark cherry aperitif, you'll think you're being welcome to a private house party.
The Restaurant is a sanctuary set up with a magnificent collection of Spanish ceramics mixed with 19th century English dishes. Two portraits set over splendid chimneys and two mahogany tables of enormous proportions are accompanied by 18th century English chairs. All this, dressed in ajuar of top quality, makes the Restaurant an ideal setting for private meals, banquets or conferences, under the direction Maitre Manuel González and the high standard quality Kitchen of Chef David Ojeda.
Last but not least, and like the Roman pools, the palaces fountain-Pool models traces of the renaissance so spread out in the 16th century Seville. It is dedicated to the visit of Felipe V to the Village of Cazalla in 1730. Besides the beauty of its design surrounding the grand Central Patio with sounds of waterfall, it adds its function as swimming pool of San Benito. A unique scene, designed to sun bathe under historic surroundings and beauty.
