Manoir du Vaumadeuc is situated in the middle a forest just outside Pleven and not more than half hour from Dinan. The manor is very much in its original condition with only minor changes that were necessary, to put a bathroom in each room. Upon entering the house, you will see a huge salon with an antique snooker table and a magnificent fire place. Rooms are all upstairs, except for two outside cottages. The in-house rooms are either on the first floor or the attic level, with the exception of a large junior suite located at mid level between first floor and attic. In general all rooms are nice and spacious. But there is one in particular that could be considered the most beautiful one, which is room No. 4. This room in addition to being very large and furnished with original antiques as all the others has all the walls paneled in wood, except for the one on back of the bed, which is a wall to wall library with over fifteen hundred ancient books! Naturally, these are locked up. But you can appreciate them through the glass doors of the library. And, if you can read French, maybe if you insist with your host (the owner of the place) Mr. O'Neill, who is a very nice guy and speaks fluent English, he might open the library and let you take a closer peak.
The Manoir de Vaumadeuc, XVth century historical monument, offers you the peace and quiet of an authentic and magical site. This stone heaven in the heart of Penthièvre, will give you for a moment the sensation that time has stopped to welcome you and your friends, leaving the subtitle charm of the passed centuries reappear, making your stay become unforgettable.
