Hotel Juan II is situated in Toro, a small town in the Province of Zamora only 30 Km from Zamora, 70 Km from Salamanca and 60 Km from Valladolid; it is on the way Portugal. This small town sits on top of a hill overlooking the valley of the river Duero, a marvelous view which can be best appreciated from the Hotel Juan II.
This is an unpresumptuous rural hotel with nice clean rooms and good food, all at very affordable prices. Right in front of the hotel is the famous Colegiata, a cathedral from the XIIth century which added to the breathtaking view of the Duero, makes the stop over in Toro a must on your way to Portugal or coming from or to Galicia. Especially the Portico (Portal) of the Colegiata, a true work of art with all those little sculptures that seam carved out of wood, but they are not, it is all stone colored in polychrome! Never seen anything like it anywhere else. The Juan II as we said before is a simple one, the rooms are divided in two floors, the ones on the first level were recently renovated, not much of a change from what they were, but with fully refurbished bathrooms. What is important at Hotel Juan II is to get a room with the view to the valley, simply request it when you make your reservation.
