Hotel El Castell de Ciutat is located on the top of a hill, dominating the most strategic point of the high Segre Valley, where all major communication ways of the Pyrenees meet, a small village was set up during the Bronze Age.

Abandoned for years, the castle was finally purchased by the Tàpies family in 1970. Their intention was to restore it to its former beauty and to transform it into a modern tourist establishment. At the dawn of the XXI century the Hotel El Castell de Ciutat is an attractive resort consisting of the old castle holding, a concert room, a future museum, the 4 star Hotel and it’s well known restaurant and a spectacular wellness centre.

The hotel contains 38 rooms, comprising 14 upper “Mansarda” rooms, 18 rooms with terrace, 5 junior suites and a duplex suite in the fortress of the castle.

The Tàpies restaurant, which is a gourmet restaurant where you can sample sensational cuisine. El Celler, the ideal location in which to hold private parties, business lunches or dinners, or themed dinners. Starting from 15 people, El Celler offers complete privacy.

The panoramic terrace, where you can enjoy the first rays of sun with breakfast; or sip special cocktails to start the evening party. The Bar, a welcoming area where you can taste the most selects liqueurs. La Bodega, a wine-cellar deserving of the numerous awards received during recent years, with more than 650 references to the most recognized national and international wine-cellars.
