Geneva's world-renowned Botanical Gardens were created by A P de Candolle in 1817 and were originally part of the the Parc des Bastions. They were moved to their current site in 1901. 28 hectares of gardens and greenhouses are home to tropical plants from six continents. A pond, flower gardens, a garden of the senses, an aviary and a park of rare animals join to make a most pleasurable and informative day out.
