Finca Santa Marta is a 36 hectares farm, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and orchards, which until only 15 years ago produced top quality olive oil and wine called 'pitarra', owned and managed by a Dutchman. His name is Henri Elink, a wonderful host who speaks fluent English as well as Spanish. The Santa Marta is formed by three houses across the street one from another.
Accommodations are extremely rustic with a style still reminiscent of the rustic atmosphere of ancient well-kept farms, but the newly decorated interiors reflect the delicate harmony between comfort and originality. Somehow this is a place a lot of people seem to like in their own way, at least the guest book seems to be evidence of that, we saw compliments from guest coming from all parts of the world. Another interesting sign was that they had several rooms occupied when we visited them in low season... Surely the warm welcome in Finca Santa Marta has a lot to account for the faithful clientele because Mr. Elink and Ines the maid, whom according to him is a wonderful cook, both make you feel really at home.
Just as it is to be expected in a property like this, every room in Finca Santa Marta is different; maybe the better ones would be the newer rooms with outside access, located in the second house. Overall Finca Santa Marta is a relaxing place perfect for anyone not looking for luxury but yes, for peace and tranquility.
