The Chateau was formally the private estate of Prince Talleyrand, and after extensive renovation and modernization it opened as a hotel in 1986. The result is a sheer delight and Rochecotte offers a combination of beauty and comfort in an extremely peaceful and relaxing setting. The 34 bedrooms including three suites are all tastefully decorated and furnished to an extremely high standard and many overlook the charming gardens and woodland setting.

The restaurant, which is breathtakingly beautiful, enjoys an enviable reputation for the high standard of its cuisine and is a gourmet's delight with the menu du Jour (a four course menu, which changes daily) at 38 Euros. In addition there is a comprehensive “à la carte” menu. Finally, the Loire Valley was registered by Unesco in the “Patrimoine Mondial de l’Humanité” in recognition of the Loire Valley’s outstanding beauty and heritage. As a consequence, Rochecotte is ideally located for visiting all the famous châteaux, abbeys, churches and museums, as well as the world famous vineyards.
